Super Sunscreen

Share Article

Do you slather on slimy sunscreen before you hop in the pool? I hope you do! Sunscreen is so important to use throughout your entire life. Sunscreen protects your skin from the sun’s harmful rays that destroy your skin cells’ DNA and cause skin cancer! Sunscreen has long-lasting positive effects such as helping your skin maintain its elasticity (strechiness), and preventing wrinkles, skin cancer, and painful sunburns.

Apply a thick layer when you put on sunscreen. It should still appear white on your skin, and you should let it sink in. If you rub it in all the way, the SPF (or how effective it is at blocking the sun’s harmful rays) is half as effective. You should reapply sunscreen every 2 hours when you’re outside playing, but reapply every hour when you’re in the pool or at the beach because water can wash sunscreen off quickly.

So remember every day to slop on that sunscreen!
